Wheel clamping in the UK

Interesting developments in the news today:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10993473

In short, it's going to be illegal for you to clamp a vehicle parked on private land, or to tow it away.

I'm all for stopping the malicious clampers that abuse their position. You know the ones, they clamp you and charge 2,000 whilst you'd just gone to the newsagents to get some change for the parking meter.

But what about the honest, responsible land owner who simply wants to protect what he or she owns? Surely it's not right that someone can just park on his or her land and there be nothing that can be done about it?

It doesn't strike me as though this has been properly thought through..

Health Care Reforms and Job Locked Entrepreneurs

Few days before we came across the one very interesting article which elaborated about how Health Care Reforms (HCR) will impact on job locked entrepreneurs. To what extent would-be entrepreneurs feel comfortable leaving their jobs to start businesses? If people can get affordable insurance outside of their jobs, some number of workers who mainly stay in their jobs for health benefits will leave to start small companies or work for them. Although its clear that the new law wont unleash a flood of entrepreneurs immediately because many changes wont take effect for several years, but it is likely to shift how and when people decide to start new businesses in the years ahead.

We would appreciate readers views and opinions on this. Thanks.

Accepting reviews on travel websites

Sorry... to clarify, I had reviews from third parties in mind.

If you're the person publishing the content, then you are responsible for it, even if it's been written by someone else, no?

You can have disclaimers, yes, but I'm not sure how much legal protection they really give you..

Google Analytics - illegal?

They are very out of touch with the use and nature of the information available.

Our governments themselves hold much more sensitive information, which they like to leave on trains in briefcases and laptops whenever possible.

However I could see why Germany might be a little over sensitive to this..

Company Ownership Issue

Hello Tehnath, I was once in such a sticky situation as you find yourself. I also thought my friendship with the other party was irreparable. After the problem was resolved we became friends again.

The worst thing you can do is take advice on your own, you need to work this out with your business partner. You are still partners until the business is sold or dissolved. Communication is key and you will find it easier than you think to work it out between you. You will stand to loose a considerable amount if you choose to legally resolve your problem.

If your business is based on personal relationships with your clients I would suggest you dissolve your initial company and establish your own new business. You will still be in contact with your clients, selling them the same service.

I will not comment on the legal aspects of your problem, or who owns what.

"STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL" emails

That type of language does not bind you to a confidentiality agreement prohibiting further communication about the email.

Rather, it is a boilerplate notice that if mail intended for someone else is accidentally sent to you, that you are not to make use of it.

Even then, whether you could do anything with the email or not depends on many circumstances, such as the sender, intended recipient, and actual message.

Such language also helps the sender CYA in case email is misdirected..

Business Insurance Online!

It is important to keep your commercial insurance legal as most insurance coverage is required by law. An example of the type of commercial insurance policy you should make is the Employers Liability Insurance that provides coverage for claims made by employees for accidents and sickness suffered as a consequence of working in your business.

Having a third party motor insurance policy too proves to be beneficial to you as this is a commercial insurance that provides coverage for motor vehicles used by the company. Looking at these two types of commercial insurance, you realize the importance that has to be placed in choosing the right cover and protection for your company through the insurance policy..
