|Because you're too old for a student loan?
Actually from what I'm told, getting a student loan, sticking it in the bank and then paying the capital back at the end is a really good idea due to the bizare way many banks work their mortgage lending according to a mortgage specialist.
You can also sometimes get mortgages more easily even if you haven't paid the loan back because you're not earning enough. Apparently in the banking system if you've shown that you've had a loan and not got into debts paying it back, then you're the ideal candidate for lending £100K to!
Is it just me, or has someone misprogrammed the banking computers somewhere?
