OK, so we've had 'ants' in place here for just over 24 hours now - it's early days still but I would be interested to hear what you all think. A worthwhile addition or an irritating distraction?

I think your reward system is great. I like how it ties in with the business (not like on our forum... but we are working on alternative ways of cashing in credits Smile ).

I think that in the long run the points will be a small item in the big picture, but I think it is the small things, and the fine touches that result in a great end product.

Two thumbs up on the originality of the name for the reward system. Collecting ants is definatelly going along with the business theme, and a great alternative to "collecting points". Some thing, but the presentation in this case is outstanding.

I like the idea of the reward system, and the quality restraints you have placed upon qualifying posts.

Question How does one check their "ant status?"

Thanks both of you. Your ant status is shown to the right of your posts. You can also view it via the 'Members' link at the top.

Regards

Aaron

She this is what happens when you get an animal from the other side of the world running a travel forum - as soon as they cross the equator they get right and left mixed up! Very Happy

Aardvark's hail mainly from Southern Africa in case anyones wondering - where Aaron is from, erm...

Errr, yes... good point. Embarassed

It's to the right assuming, like me, you look at your screen upside down. Confused

Funny thing is that with our forum the anticipation of a reward system did more than the system itself. We've had the credits in place, and were working on the online games, but no one knew how they would be able to cash in their credits... that was when the biggest upsurge in posting happened on our forum.

Things are pretty busy now, mainly thanks to Aaron, trev, and a couple of others... no one seems to really care for the games right now though. Oh well, another small piece in place, to combine with all the rest of the stuff we're working on! Smile

A good use for the credit system, is so that that users have to purchase things like avatars and sigs etc. This is particularly effective for people who like to advertise in their sigs, who will have to contribute to your site in order to get their ads to display.

Somehow, you cash them in for advertising on Aardvark's Business web site. I think it's a great idea. Aaron, give us a refresher on how this works, please? Thanks. Very Happy
