Congress has balked at the Bush administration's proposed $700 billion bailout of Wall Street. Under this plan, the Treasury would have bought the "troubled assets" of financial institutions in an attempt to avoid economic meltdown. This bailout was a terrible idea. Here's why.

If the prospect for the companies is OK, i would say bailout is OK, else just let it go bankrupt, as I don't think we should bailout just for the sake of bailout, the underlying causes as well as what is laying ahead should take into consideration.

The manner that the Feds are handling the bailout is beyond understanding. Since the government casued the problem (along with greeed and horrid management), what makes people think the government can fix the problem?
Everyone complans about the "fat cats" but fails to include the bureaurocrats in that category. Then they vote in the most bureaucratic reps, senators, and president in years.
The education system does not teach critical thinking nor history any longer. The public is screwed! _________________ John Slenes

I say let the bankers and lenders go down in flames. They only have themselves to blame for creating this mess. _________________ Bankruptcy |
