We've recently launched a business directory specialised for driving schools and instructors, which can be visited at Find-Driving-Schools.co.uk. However, it is struggling so far to reach our target clients. We've tried to contact some driving schools by phone, only found that most of driving instructors were caught in the middle of driving lessons and were unable to talk much.

We appreciate that most driving schools are solo traders and are unable to answer their phone during their work, thus make it even harder to approach them via phone than other small business.

Any suggestions on promoting services among small business like driving schools?

Or by email?

It sounds like you need to contact them by some means that will allow them to deal with it in their time rather than yours, and so I'd imagine anything but phoning them ought to work.

Might be worth checking into regulations though as I dare say there are some regarding sending unsolicited things through the post.

you could try text messaging
I'm guessing they use their mobiles as their main form of communication

so start with an ad campaign - call 80212 if you're a driving instructor
put an ad on one of the main learner driver routes pehaps
test it out and see what response you get

If I was a driving instructor, I think that would get my goat to be honest. It would be deleted straight away.
