Two studies show "night owls" are more intelligent and better geared to handle a long day at work than morning "larks," John Heckers writes. Companies could benefit from offering flexible hours to people who want to come to the office late, Heckers writes.

Very interesting. I've always been a night owl. I remember on one job I had, if there was a lot of work to do I would quite happily stay in my office till 4am or later if that's what it took to get the job done.
None of us ever watched the clock in that place, it was simply a case of getting the job done. If there wasn't much happening we could go out on a jolly or do our own thing. _________________ http://britishexpat.com |

i've been both - dependent on circumstances
when working in the middle of a city, I arrived first to beat the traffic and cracked on from 8-9
I also really got loads done when getting up at 4 to catch a plane
now i work for myself and spend time with my kids from 4-8.30 i tend to work till midnight and my best work is done in the last hour
i prefer to do this than getting up early
so on balance I'm probably a night owl _________________ e-FM network | Get Above The Fold | Physiobench |

I'm a night owl in so much as I can keep on working until the early hours of the morning, quite happily.
I'm also conscious though that I'm at my most productive (particularly if it's something I need to concentrate on) early in the morning. That's on the days when I feel able to function early on (ie. not if I've stayed up late). _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering
