A couple of bits of research recently by Manchester University and Boston University have both concluded that Facebook is for lonely people seeking social hugging, whilst Twitter tends to attract people after mental stimulation.
Does this chime with what you've seen? _________________ My social media blog |

Not sure to be honest. As far as I can tell, the only ones covered were FB and Twitter. _________________ My social media blog |

There is a difference for sure. I use social networks a lot and basically it comes down to maturity (not necessarily age if you know what I mean) - Twitter is a more 'mature' audience.
I saw an amusing tweet attributed to Megan Fox last night which said:
"Twitter makes me want to go for a drink with people I've never met before. Facebook makes me want to throw a drink in the face of people I've know for years!" _________________ After Dinner Speaker | Buy Gold Bullion | Storage |

It the "my life is fab" ones that grate with me (a sure sign of insecruity IMHO!)... and the ones that tell you how wonderful they and their children are doing all the time. Fair enough, if they've achieved something, but to hear it day in day out is kind of wearing. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering

I completely agree! I've removed several people from my timeline for that very reason, but some are even close to getting ditched altogether. Can they not see how cringe worthy it all is!? You are so right, it just cries out 'insecure'.
There's a blog post or something similar I once saw which lists all the different types of Facebook friends - it's hilarious. Will see if I can find it one day this week and post it up. _________________ After Dinner Speaker | Buy Gold Bullion | Storage |

Having found the ability to stop seeing posts by selected facebook friends I have avoided the need to unfriend them to save my sanity. _________________ Commissioner for Oaths | To find out about making a Lasting Power of Attorney check this |
