I thought this was a pretty impressive video of starlings almost taking a tree down with them, so I'm posting it here to share:

That is so freaky? I have never seen anything like that before. Does anyone know if this type of behavior is has been reported before? I wonder if they were all trying to eat something out of the tree, maybe some insects or something? It is the only seemingly "alive" tree visable so I guess they could be looking for food.

Actually it's quite normal behaviour for starlings in the autumn before they take off south. I've seen it lots of times. It's very impressive. They don't usually land on just one tree though - it's normally a group of trees. They do it in the evenings & it's a precursor to coming in to roost for the night.
