BA have managed to stop BA workers going on strike again in the courts. The judge ruled that the union had failed to tell its members about a number of spoilt ballot papers in the latest strike votes. The union has filed for leave to appeal against the ruling.

The union's joint general secretary, Tony Woodley, said "the decision brings into question whether we have the right to strike in this country" and announced the union would appeal the ruling.

Should courts stop strikes on technicalities?

I don't see why not. Particularly in the case of the BA strike action as I don't feel it's warranted.

There is no way the BA strikes should go ahead.

It really makes me laugh when a struggling company like BA which lost 531 Million (pre tax losses) this year, has a load of unskilled workers going on strike. If they don't want to work, a strike is a brilliant way of loosing jobs forever.

BA could go bankrupt and a foreign carrier take its place leaving all the strikers unemployed.
