Googlebot secret finally revealed!

Ever since its conception, users, techies and competing sites have been trying to work out just how Googlebot gets around to spidering so many pages on the web on an almost constant basis.

Now we think we have the answer - time travel - and we have proof

There have been rumours around for a while that there might be something a little special about Googlebot and if such a thing were to happen, well it would either be NASA with lots of PHD's, Google with about 50+ PHD's or some 14 geek his/her bedroom outdoing them all...

Well, now ladies, gentlemen and great orange ones we would like to present you with the evidence. If you look at the cached date on that image you'll notice something a little odd:

This does of course pose the problem of what exactly Googlebot was interested in back there?

I would suggest a strong possibility is that Googlebot was designed by a superior alien lifeform discovered during the Moon landing in 1969. This lifeform - which I'll call Fred for lack of any imagination - has been monitoring our progress and giving us some gentle hints such saying to Ray Tomlinson one day "why don't you put an @ in e-mail address?".
