I just started my own internet website selling items. The address is in my signature if you would like to take a look. I still have a full-time job that I work. I am hoping this website can workout and expand some so I can stay at home. I have 3 young boys, that I would like to spend more time with. If you happen to take a look at the site, please feel free to offer suggestions to get things going.

Hi Russell

Excuse me being an old cynic from the UK but do you actually make a realistic income from what you do. Does it pay the bills, feed and clothe you, provide you with luxuries?

I've always been interested to know if this type of site actually generates any income. Is this the old principle of "The only people that made money out of the gold rush were the ones selling buckets & spades"?

Just curious,
Being self-employed, working online from home is just the most amazing thing in the world.
No public transport to battle with, amongst many other perks.

The trouble is, it can be really hard to set the sort of routine for yourself at home, if you're not careful.

At home I'm used to general surfing - sometimes it can be very hard not to procrastinate by doing "normal" things, even when you have a client's job that needs doing. Of course, it gets done on time - but sometimes I don't wonder on the advantages of being in your own office, without all those distractions (and that includes the kids!!). Smile

I worked from home for 2,5 years and I find it was great. I used to drink lots of tea and didn't loose 2 hours in the train and buses. Last 2 months, my man was at home too and worked at 2 meters from me Wink Sometime one of us asked the otherone for finding a bug in the code. Both of us like programming therefore working together on several projects was amazing Smile

I think if we can:
1)create value
2)get paid for it
3)enjoy doing it
then working from home is a good option....

Been workin at home since 1986. Advantages are work when want to. Disadvantage si work all the time.

We do all accounting and marketing out of house. Primary business is 130 miles distant with resident manager.

My busines partenr recently purchased a condo and turned one room into an office. We run several websites including one that really hit the mark in the local market that we are about to start marketing big time in hopes of building the business to sell in the next year. Nature of our work, we can work until 2AM, then start at noon the next day if we want. Its nice because soon we'll both be in grad school.

I'm not a complete work-at-homer, since I still have a regular job, but I love working at home so much I started a website on this very topic (hint: see signature). I hope to one day soon reap the full-rewards of exclusively working at home, to avoid the daily commute and spending so much energy working for "the man". But even my regular job, let's me work from home one day a week, so I can understand the issue of not having a clean dividing line between work and home life. Doesn't seem to high a price to pay. I to am still working a full time day job, but if things go as well as they are right now, my part-time WFH business will become my full time (20-25 hours) day job.
