When you provide some service to someone or some business, you need to be doing what they ask you to do. However, sometimes it's difficult to get your client's approval, because he/she does not understand what you do, not in the way that you do. For example, you decide to control bandwidth using robots.txt and .htaccess files. If your client is not technically savvy, he/she probably does not understand what you do, yet you need to get some kind of approval from him/her. How do you get approval? How do you get ok sign from your client?

In this instance I would really have to say that it is your responsibility to put what you are doing into layman's terms, and make sure that the client understands what you are doing.

How will it benefit them? You don't explain simply the features of what you are doing to them in techno-garble, you show them "I will do this, and to you it will mean that".

As long as you explain things in that way, receiving approval should not be a problem.

Sales 101 really!
