Any suggestion for cheap domain name registrar for domain renewal?

A number of registrar give cheap 1st year and increase the price for renewal.
I have quite a bit of domain registered at promotions and want to transfer them.

Reseller account is fine but prefer not to pay a yearly or startup fee. (These fees more than nullify the saving in the renewal fee)

I used to use one registrar but they recently changed their pricing policy without informing me so I taking the business elsewhere.

123reg.co.uk is the one I use. they are cheap, now owned by Pipex, and have great control panel facilities changing IPStag, dns nameservers etc all from within.

The small prints:
* + registration fee: £2.50 per year (US Domains: £8.60). Domain name renewal price is 39p per year (.uk)

That's more than a lot of registrars.

I'm looking for domain in the range of 6-7USD (most like 6.7 - 6.99). I'm getting 6.99 now with my reseller account anyway.

Don't go with uk2.net

It's a nightmare trying to move away from them, I've even sent a fax and still nothing. Anyone know what I can do?

They not let me change the email on my whois or unlock the domain Sad

We have had a couple of clients come back to us due to the same reason; providers raising fee after the first year.

For each hosting package, we provide free domain registration and renewal each year fro as long us you keep the hosting with us. We are currently working on increasing our hosting space on each package by atleast 350MB.

Since our domain names are free, you can actually charge this fee to your clients and keep it besides the added value of our reseller program. You would generally be saling the same packages as we do, but charge your own rate. All this comes with an independ control panel for you to manage and monitor your accounts.

Contact us if you are interested. If you have a couple of site, there is not setup fee at all.

If you want to register a .co.uk then i really suggest you use 1and1
www.1and1.co.uk
£1.99 per year for all .co.uk

If you want to buy a .com then use goDaddy
www.godaddy.com
$8.95 per year which = £5ish
They always have offers on and are also very good for .net .info .biz and .us

I have tended to use Authority Domains which can be reached via the avahost.com website.
The domains are cheap and genuine. For co.uk's I tend to buy via easyspace.com

Totally agree with the earlier comment on uk2.net - charlatans. Used to use them many years ago and they do everything they possibly can do lock you in as well as charge to move out (as I recall 123reg also make a charge). Don't touch them with a barge poll. The support is also appalling.

At the time I also had a RAQ server with them. One day they sent out a billing reminder to all users offering a great deal to renew with them again before a particular date. I'd already decided due to non-existent support, I was moving so passed on the deal.

Lo and behold, just after the date that this great offer ended - they sent out a mail saying that they were changing the set-up and that anyone with one of their RAQ servers would have to put in a number of hours of work just to keep their sever live.

For UK registrations I personally don´t think you can go far wrong with ukreg.com

In the US - godaddy.com or hostmonster.com

I use:

Doteasy - I recommend highly ONLY for domain registration

GoDaddy - no complaints

ipowerweb - i have recommended to clients and used them in the past; good email server and apps

servage.net - good for multiple "not-too-heavy-traffic" hosting (unlimited domain hosting, email, subdomains, etc.)

I always visit http://www.dncoupons.com and get a coupon code for a discount first before registering my domains.

I use Dynadot and NameCheap for discount pricing on domains.
