If we were to produce an Aardvark T-shirt, what would you like to see on it? A picture of me? If so, any fun or novel ideas for the picture/design?

Would you like something both front and back? Perhaps a small Aaron on the front pocket area, and a larger version covering the back? Any and all input welcomed! Do people prefer polo shirts to T-shirts? Any other merchandise preferred?

We are thinking of producing some merchandise and it might be that you'll be able to exchange ants for merchandise (as well as for advertising)...

Regards

Aaron

In my honest opinion I dont think many people will wear an aardvark t-shirt, I think more of the people will have things that they can use at work, such as

mouse mats
mugs for their tea and coffee breaks
pens

just my opinion

I'd wear an aardvark T-Shirt. I'd wear pretty much any T-shirt, but I do agree, that the most people would probably prefer practical items. I would most certainly use an aardvark porshe, but I think I need a few more ants for that one.

An Aardvark Porsche...? Nice idea. Wink

The idea for T-shirts came largely through the travel site. I guess that audience is more looking for that kind of thing - something to wear on their travels, on the beach, etc. - whereas this site, being more orientated towards businesses, might well be more suited to the kinds of merchandise you're alluding to... thanks for the input and keep the ideas coming.

in my opinion, i prefer something like cap to wear on head or pen or purse than t-shirt. design the output in more creative and attractive way which look diiferent from other product. good luck

www.cafepress.com

you could open a free online store (has mouse pads, t-shirts, cups, EVERYTHING) and it's all free, all you get is profits!

It's also REALLY easy to use, all you have to do is upload the logo!

Hope that helps!

I've looked at Cafe Press and similar sites before but am highly doubtful about the quality of the products. Can anyone here vouch for the quality from first hand experience?

Actually, I can. Several of our clients use them. We use them for our own stuff (nothing serious), and quality and delivery are first rate. In our last order of multiple shirts, there was a screening problem on one of them. Upon being notified, they sent a replacement via priority UPS (we had only paid for surface mail).

The only caveat I would add is that this is not embroidery work -- its a printing process. If you can accept that, then they are fine (and no inventory requirment on your part). For embroidered hats or shirts etc., I've had good luck with the commercial services offered by Lands End. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Just curious. Are you thinking about producing t-shirts as an extension of your business or just as .... a kind of hobby?

If we do ever produce anything, it'll be small scale and nothing too serious. I could be wrong but I don't see there being a huge demand for Aardvark T-shirts...

If anyone knows of anyone sufficiently famous that'd be willing, I'd go ahead and get them made. So... who here knows someone famous that'd be up for this?

Fred Talbot?

Yes, I've met him also. Not sure someone of his esteemed celebrity status would quite qualify. In any case, he only wears woolly jumpers, doesn't he?!

How abou running a contest?

Sell your Aardvark t-shirt and see how can get the most famous celeb to wear it. Then put it to a vote and give a decent prize!

Cheers
