Abbey Church
The Stiftskirche at Kremsmünster is a mid 13th century church built in a style between the Romanesque and Gothic. It was remodelled in Baroque style the 17th century by the architect Antonio Carlone. The soaring interior is richly stuccoed and has twelve altars distributed in the choir and aisles.

Academy of Fine Arts
Although the Academy was founded in 1692 Peter Strudl, the neo-Renaissance building in which it is housed was completed in 1877 by Theophil Hansen. The main purpose is, of course, teaching, but within the school there are picture and print galleries open to the public.

Agrarium Park
Agrarium, situated at Upper Austria’s oldest castle site at Almegg, is a unique theme park devoted to plants and animals and adventure. There are imaginatively themed gardens with a vast array of different fruits, cereals, vegetables and many varieties of flowers and herbs.

Albertina
Founded by Duke Albert, in 1768, this is one of the principal graphical art collections in the world. Started with a personal collection, with 30,000 items donated by Giacomo Durazzo, it has expanded over the years to include 50,000 drawings, etchings and watercolours and over 1.5 million printed works.

Almegg Castle
Schloss Almegg is used as a regional cultural centre for exhibitions of arts and crafts as well as concerts, lectures and a huge annual arts and crafts market held in November.

Almkanal
The building work for this amazing feat of mediaeval engineering commenced in 1137. The objective was to drive a tunnel through the Münchsberg mountain to carry a canal to provide fresh water for the district of St. Peter.

Alpenzoo
At 727m above sea level this is reputedly the highest zoo in the world. All the animals originate from the Alpine regions so it is a wonderful place to visit to discover the wildlife you could see locally in the wild.

Alpine Garden in the Belvedere
As one of the oldest of its kind in Europe, this Alpine garden is well worth including on a visit the Belvedere. Situated south of the Oberes Belvedere it contains thousands of plants normally only found in alpine regions, some quite rare.
